Thats cool, so basically it should be ok to run it on Windows Server 2008 on 8-cpu, 32 cores (64 threads total)? 🙂 I plan to build server for this..

I plan to build server with multiple cpus, about 128GB RAM and 32 to 64 cores total. I plan to use Windows Server 2008 or 2012. Will it work? Its a good idea?

Does anyone here have SQ on server?

I plan to build multiple node, multiple CPU server just for SQ computing lets say 16-64 cores (32-128 threads) with 128GB RAM.

Do you think it will work good?

Yes, it works just fine. Never heard of any singel Xeon CPU´s  with 32 cores thought i thought the max was the E7s with 24 cores.

I will use 6 or 8core Xeons, 4 or more processors. Not a single CPU (even the 24core CPU is bloody expensive)
