Explained via simple example:
Working on strategy v0.1
Save as to EA Wizard/strategies
Get EA mq4
Open ‘save to’. Default is set to EA Wizard/strategies
Change to metatrader/mql4/experts
Adjust strategy rules
Rename v0.2
Open Save as. Default is set to metatrader/mql4/experts
Change to EA Wizard/strategies
Get EA mq4
Open ‘save to’. Default is set to EA Wizard/strategies
Change to metatrader/mql4/experts
Adjust strategy rules
Rename v0.3
Open Save as. Default is set to metatrader/mql4/experts
Change to EA Wizard/strategies
Get EA mq4
Open ‘save to’. Default is set to EA Wizard/strategies
Change to metatrader/mql4/experts
Is there any way these 2 “save” options can have separate “memories” so they remember “their own” previous folder?
If you have multiple harddrives and folders (and create a lot of EAs) this task becomes so mind numbing.
Also unable to upload png file, or any file for that matter for several days, maybe even weeks to the forums. (I uploaded to an image site)
Also I posted this on the forums because this creates discussion and others can see it.

I have a similar difficulty, perhaps there could be a couple optional save routines developed so that, depending on the project, the steps coule be varied and reduced.
Excellent topic..!

While not the answer you’re looking for, you should investigate using some source control such as GIT or SVN, this will track changes you make and allow you to ‘ROLL’ back if needed. This is what software developers use and is very effective, and is effectively what you’re doing.
This will then allow you to save using exactly the same name each time.
