Hi Marc,
I’m Riccardo from Sapienza Finanziaria,
I inform you that I have run some tests with SQ on my VPS
My VPS has a Xeon Dual Core processor, 2GB RAM and Win Server 2008.
SQ slowed the system but worked for about 8 consecutive hours without any problems.
I am sure that by using a more powerful VPS, the slowness problems could definitely be solved.

thank you for sharing your experience. Although I think runningSQ on standard desktop computer is more efficient in terms of money spent vs computing power,
it is possible to run it also on VPS, which has some other advantages.

I can understand paying for a VPS for live trading, but for developing strategies, why pay for a hosted server? You could buy several powerful PC’s that would have much better computing power for the cost of a years VPS.

Indeed. High-end VPS costs a lot of $ per month. In calculation that we need to FIND , IMPROVE and OPTIMIZE strategies, then VPS seems to be not good in costs.
